Grant Information:
The children in the Little Chicks class (2 year room) are not eligible to use the grant as yet, therefore the classroom runs all year
round and does not operate on a termly basis. However, for every four months your child has attended Busy Bees you are eligible to receive
a weeks holiday. If you wish to book holiday please ask your child’s teacher for a ‘holiday request form’ which must be handed back no
later than two weeks prior to your holiday.
Cut off dates, always remain the same: 31 December for the Spring term, 30 April for the Summer term and 31 August for the Autumn/Fall term.
Session times are as follows:
| Morning 9.00 - 11.30am |
Afternoon 12.45 - 3.15pm |
For children attending The Little Chicks, Bumble Bees and Robins classes.
| Morning 9.30 - 12.00am |
Afternoon 1.15 - 3.45pm |
For children attending the Ladybird and Butterfly classes.
When using the grant, you are eligible to receive 15 hours per week. You can use the maximum of 6 hours per day, over a minimum of a 3 day period.
We are flexible with how you use your grant. Examples of how it can be used are:
Monday - Friday 3 hours each day for the morning session,
Monday - Friday 3 hours each day for the afternoon,
Monday and Wednesday all day (use 3 hours am + 3 hours pm, then pay the top up of £1.00 for the 15 minutes over grant time at the end of each day. Or if you wish to stay later, the top up fee will rise accordingly) + 3 hours left for another am or pm throughout the week..
Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons - 5 hours each afternoon.
There are many different scenarios of how you can use your grant, just let us know what suits you best.
The only way you cannot use the grant is by cutting into sessions, for example:
9.30am - 2.30 pm
10.00am - 3.00pm
Also, we can not offer 5 hours for the morning sessions as we are unable to start using the grant until 8.00am and it would cause an over crowding situation during the lunchtime period if children added an extra hour onto the end of their morning session.
You are entitled to claim up to 15 hours per week using the grant. However, if you use more than the hours you have claimed each day, you will be charged a top up fee of £4.00 per hour. The computer charges by the minute, so please make sure you sign your child out on both the manual book and the computer. At the end of each week, the computer will set your bill for the following week. Please ensure you check your balance on a regular basis as we do not automatically send invoices out. If you require an invoice, please see Sharon in the main office.
Set schedules for grant children only
(These are at a discounted rate as well as the 15 hours of grant taken off - full day children are categorized as being able to attend school anytime 6.45am -6.00pm. However, the grant hours can only by used between 8.00am - 6.00pm -a 10 hour day)
5 full days per week = £103.50 per week on grant
4 full days per week = £ 73.50 per week on grant
3 full days per week = £ 43.50 per week on grant
For more information on fees and grant, please contact Sharon Frost (Accounts Manager) on: 01638 718249.
When the grant finishes for a particular term, then you are in a full pay situation until the next term begins. Fees will be charged at
the regular session price (mentioned above) during the non-grant periods. If you wish to you can amend your child’s schedule, or book
your child out for the non-grant periods. We will hand all relevant paperwork out prior to the non-grant periods If you deregister your
child for the summer break (usually 6 weeks) and would like them to return in the new term, you will be required to pay a re-registration
fee of £40.00, which is payable at the end of the term (July) and sign the required paperwork. If you do not, you may find that we fill
the available spaces and you may not be able to restart at the commencement of the new term.
During the non-grant time, a good number of parents choose to keep to their regular schedule, as regular school activities remain in place
throughout the whole year - with the exception of Christmas when the school is closed.
When you wish to deregister your child, please ask your child’s key person for a ‘leaving notification letter’ which must be handed in
no later than two weeks before your child leaves. Attached to the letter is a ‘parental exit questionnaire’, it would be greatly
appreciated if you could take a few minutes to fill the form in and either hand it back to your child’s key person, or place it in the
suggestion box outside the main office.
Could we please ask that parents check their child’s balance on the computer to ensure there are not any outstanding fees. Please remember,
that the computer’s balance only records fees up to the previous Friday and not the current week. Please ask Sharon to add on the last
week.
